Monday Rant- The Warriors

In the weekly Monday Rant column, I will give my point of view topics that are the talk on social media. It won't ever be anything as polarizing as religion or political views but definitely something that’s buzzing at the moment. This will always be 100% honest opinion, unfiltered and unabashed. Today's topic is the Golden State Warriors.

I guess Darwin was right. In the animal world, as well as it human counterpart, society and survival is meant for the strongest and the fittest. We are brought into the world with the spirit of competing and striving to be the best day by day. Success is often found in achievements and benchmarks throughout our entire life. I remember being told that in order to succeed, you either have to be the first or be the best. In our daily life, we hear about successful people, and sometime we just need to take a minute and admire the feats that these extraordinary accomplishments.

In the current 2015-2016 NBA season, as many of us know, the current NBA Champions have started their in a scorching record-breaking pace. Today they sit on a 15-0 record with a +216 point differential, averaging 114.5 points per game. The Warriors are the first reigning NBA champions to start a season 15-0, and they have tied the best undefeated start to a season in NBA History. They look to take sole possession of that record on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ever since the Warriors went 6-0, people started drawing comparisons to the 72-10 Bulls, a team that set the blueprint for excellence. A lot of people were quick to say the '95-96 Bulls would destroy the current NBA. Even Dennis Rodman, former member of that Bulls team, said “People say they're going to go 72-10. I don't care. They can go 81-1. We did it first.” Rodman is right to an extent. That '95-96 team indeed did it first. And, yes, the Warriors still have a very long and demanding NBA season to play before Wednesday, April 13th comes around and we find out if the Warriors will break the season record. But in the meantime, I strongly suggests to sit back, forget about a past teams, and really enjoy what Steph Curry and friends are doing in the league right now.
